Тема: Телевидение в нашей жизни: плюсы и минусы.

Задачи: 1. Активизировать лексику и речевые структуры по теме.

             2. Расширять языковую и коммуникативную компетенцию учащихся.

             3. Совершенствовать умения убеждать собеседника и отстаивать свою точку зрения.

Оборудование:  высказывание по теме, карточки с ситуациями для составления   диалогов, презентация Power Point.

ТСО: компьютер, проектор.

Ход урока.

I. Организационный  момент.

II. Речевая разминка.

1. How do you understand this phrase? (слайд)

«Television is a reflection of the world».

2. Answer my questions:

What is TV for us?

What does it offer?

What possibilities does TV give?

Can you imagine your life without TV?

Is all the information on TV helpful and believable?

III. Актуализация изученнных лексических единиц и речевых структур по теме.

1. We have a rich arrange of TV programmes. Find the definitions for the words.(слайд)

На экране – названия жанров телепередач. Задача: соотнести жанры с описаниями.

News – gives us information about the latest events in the world and in our country. It is very useful and interesting.

Talk show – are informal talks usually with famous people. It is always exciting.

Soap operas – dramas about life.

Documentary – factual film about real things in the world.

Crime story – is about police and detectives. It helps to behave in extremal situations.

Cartoon – is a film for small children. Sometimes it teaches children new things.

Sport programs – are about sport events in the world.

2. There are many different programmes on TV. Here are some pictures taken from famous Russian programmes.

What is your favourite TV programme?

What can you tell about this programme?

What kind of programme would you create if you were a TV director?

Thanks to television we can learn more about the international actors, singers and so on. Some lessons ago we spoke about the actor who is recognized all over the world.

Do you remember him? (Rowan Atkinson) (слайд)

You can see some questions about him on the screen. Raise your hand if you know the answer. (слайд)

2. Did he have brothers or sisters?

Situation №1. Brothers are arguing about watching cartoon or football match.

Situation №2. The mother and the daughter are arguing about watching the quiz or the film.

  • Oh, no. At this time is the «What? Where? ...?» It is very interesting. Let's watch it.

Situation №3. The father and the son decide what to watch: the news or music show.

Television gives us a lot of possibilities. But every medal has its reverse. So, TV also has bad points. There is a task for you: brainstorm  the idea of cons (one group) and pros (the other group) (слайд)

Nowadays we can't do without TV. Television offers a great variety of programmes, but not all of them are of a very high standard. So, it's up to you to decide what to choose to be informed or just for pleasure.
